what to do when you’re sick with the flu on a gorgeous sunny day

Amble around the house in your favorite t-shirt, gaze wistfully out the window at your kids jumping on the trampoline, and…make a brisket in the slow-cooker!

It makes perfect sense: you can’t taste anything, your fridge/pantry needs cleaning out as the local farmer’s market will soon be open, you’ll use red wine as libation and ingredient, and your husband won’t mind prepping all the veggies as you’re on your “deathbed”  😉

Here are the ingredients I scrounged up: 

  •  veggiespotatoes
  •  celery
  •  tomatoes
  •  red onion
  •  garlic
  •  cilantro
  •  mushrooms
  •  rosemary
  •  basil
  •  thyme
  •  whole peppercorns


Add the brisket, some red wine, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, and you’re done!










Now you can take a nap while it cooks on low for 3-4 hours.

Dinner will be spectacular even if you are a walking zombie during the event.
